Fans love to hate Joakim Noah. (John McDonnell/The Washington Post)

The last time the Wizards were in the playoffs, there was no problem figuring out who to hate. Whether Cleveland realized it or not, the conversation started and ended with crab-dribbling LeBron James, whose Cavaliers eliminated Washington in the first round of the playoffs three times from 2006 to 2008. Really, Wizards fans hated LeBron before it was cool to hate LeBron.

But what to make of the Chicago Bulls? Who is most likely to draw your ire over the course of the series? Consider this your Hate-a-Bullity Index.

Joakim Noah

The exuberant Noah, who averages 12.6 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game, isn’t the most popular dude among fans around the league. He knows this, and he relishes it. During a photo shoot with GQ earlier this year, Noah was asked about being perceived as a villain.

“When you look at the people all the way at the top of the arena, and they look so small, right? And they’re just jumping up and down, being like, ‘[Expletive] you!’—there’s nothing better than that.”

Noah hasn’t always responded in the best way to taunts, though. In 2011, he was fined for hurling a homophobic slur at a fan during a playoff loss at Miami. Anyway, maybe try a different tactic than cursing at Noah if you’re in the 400 level for Game 3.

We could probably stop here, but that wouldn’t make for a very good post.

Carlos Boozer

Even Bulls fans dislike Boozer, who publicly whined in February about Coach Tom Thibodeau’s benching him in the fourth quarter in favor of the defensively superior Taj Gibson. Despite that, Boozer says he has thick skin and doesn’t mind the hate.

“You’re either loved or hated playing Duke basketball,’’ Boozer told the Chicago Sun-Times in October. “I’ve been at the highest level of basketball at every level, and going to Duke, you learn that right away. It isn’t like there are fans that kind of like you. I think I got a lot of my thick skin from being a Duke basketball player. Even when you come to the NBA, a lot of players wanted to be recruited by Duke who weren’t or we may have beaten them to win a championship or go to the tournament, whatever, and it carries over to the NBA.’’

Oh, right. He went to Duke.

Mike Dunleavy

Stay with me here. Marcin Gortat said DeMarcus Cousins makes his list of people he doesn’t like.

DeMarcus Cousins has a feud with Mike Dunleavy.

Therefore, Marcin Gortat (and Wizards fans) shouldn’t like Mike Dunleavy. If that logic doesn’t work out — and I’m pretty sure it doesn’t —  just remember that Mike Dunleavy also went to Duke.

Jimmer Fredette

If the former BYU star plays a lot of minutes, Wizards fans will have bigger problems than figuring out who to hate. Still, the guy’s name is Jimmer, which is almost as bad as former Wizards playoff nemesis Daniel “Boobie” Gibson.
