Zach Walters is walking out to ‘Frozen’ songs

(Jonathan Newton / The Washington Post)

Whatever else Zach Walters does in his professional baseball career, he’ll always have this: he just has to be the first MLB player to have walked up to two different songs from Disney’s “Frozen.”

If you aren’t familiar with that soundtrack, you don’t have a 7-year old daughter. If you are, you’ve heard the various songs enough that they’re actually now permanently imprinted on several brain lobes. Yes, I own the piano score. So?

Anyhow, for several games, Walters walked out to “Let It Go,” the movie’s most famous song. He wasn’t the first player to do that.

But Tuesday night, he used the much-less well known “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” Honestly, that song kind of makes me choke up a little. Like, not on a bat. But in a baseball setting, it’s kind of…different. Good different.
