Alex Ovechkin rides a tank and fires a machine gun at hockey world championships

While rumors swirl in D.C. about whether former Penguins GM Ray Shero and/or coach Dan Bylsma will end up in Washington, Alex Ovechkin and his Team Russia teammates are having a grand old time at the world championships in Belarus.

Thursday was an day off for the Russians, who defeated Kazakhstan, 7-2, in a preliminary-round game the day before. They celebrated by visiting an open-air World War II museum outside of Minsk that features operational WWII-era vehicles and artillery items.

According to the uploader of the video above, Ovechkin “showed great dexterity while firing from a legendary Maxin machine gun.” Yeah, but his plus-minus …

Does this look look like a man who’s concerned about the Capitals’ front-office moves right now?

Russia returns to the ice on Saturday in a preliminary-round game against Latvia.
