RGIII, Bryce Harper and other local pros show their love for the USMNT

Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon played soccer in high school, remains a soccer fan and had previously mentioned his desire to attend this year’s World Cup in Brazil, so it was no surprise to see Garcon tweeting about Monday’s USA-Ghana match. His three tweets during the game perfectly encapsulate the USMNT’s 2-1 win.

(Note: Those boxes in Garcon’s third tweet are actually American flag icons, which don’t come through when tweets are embedded in WordPress.)

Garcon was far from the only Redskins player invested in Monday’s game. Here’s a collection of U-S-A love from Garcon’s teammates and other local pro athletes. Remember: The boxes are flags. Lots and lots of flags.

At least one local pro is cheering for a different country, though Kevin Seraphin doesn’t appear to have discovered the French flag icon on Twitter.

Poor Honduras. Lol.
