Watch soccer fans in D.C. react to John Brooks’s game-winning goal against Ghana

I’m not a huge soccer fan, but I get excited for the World Cup, and I enjoy watching USMNT matches in packed bars with patriotic strangers. I will not soon forget Monday’s thrilling, 2-1 win over Ghana, which I watched at Penn Social, and which compared favorably in terms of excitement to any sporting event I’ve watched on TV.

I didn’t think to take video of the reaction in the room after John Brooks’s game-winning goal, but thankfully, someone else did. Here’s but a small sampling of the soccer-watching scene in D.C. on Monday evening. This post may be updated.

The reaction to Brooks’s header in the 86th minute at Laughing Man Tavern…

…and at Penn Social, which reached capacity before the game.

Where did you watch the game? And did you take any video?
