Denard Span’s Nationals bobblehead will make you leap for joy

The Nationals tweeted a photo of the Denard Span bobblehead that will be given out to the first 25,000 fans at the July 20 game against the Brewers. It is awesome.

Based on Span’s uniform, sunglasses and the ‘377’ marker behind him, the design for the bobblehead appears to be based on the moment when Span robbed Joey Votto of an extra-base hit — and possibly a home run — in a win over the Reds last April. The only thing that’s missing is the ball in his glove.

“I’m not sure if the ball would have went over,” Span told Adam Kilgore of his leaping catch. “But I was prepared to bring it back if it did go out.”
