Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson lands ESPN the Magazine cover

Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson is on the cover of the July 7 “Comeback Issue” of ESPN the Magazine.

Comebacks come in all shapes and sizes, I suppose. Jackson was released by the Eagles in March amid a report of his alleged gang ties, and he signed with the Redskins less than a week later. As ESPN’s headline puts it: “From rumors to released to redeemed (by a $24 million contract) in 6 days.”

Jackson shared the cover on his Instagram with the following caption:

#Espn the Mag !! That Headline title #Respect !! #0ne0fone

Jackson is the first D.C. pro athlete to appear on an ESPN the Magazine cover since Robert Griffin III and Bryce Harper appeared on two of the national covers for ESPN’s 15th anniversary double issue in May 2013.
