Five home runs to get you excited for Bryce Harper bobblehead night

The first 25,000 fans through the gates at Nationals Park on Monday will receive Bryce Harper bobbleheads. Everyone in attendance could get their first look at non-bobblehead Bryce Harper in a major league game since he tore a ligament in his thumb on April 25.

Harper, who hit four home runs in five minor league rehab games, is expected to rejoin the Nationals today. To celebrate, here’s a look at all four of his home runs last week, plus the one he hit in 22 games with the big club this season.

UPDATE: It’s official; Harper’s back.

Harper’s only home run before his thumb injury was a big one. His three-run shot into the upper deck on April 9 sparked a come-from-behind win over the Marlins.

In his second rehab start at Class A Potomac last week, Harper crushed a hanging slider to right.

And in his fourth and final rehab appearance on Saturday, with Class AA Harrisburg, Harper blasted three home runs in a win at Akron.

I’d say he looks ready to return. Gates open at 4:30.
