Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III released a burgundy and gold cleat for the people of D.C. and the DMV last month. Griffin’s first signature training shoe, the RG3 Energy Boost from Adidas, dropped Monday and is dedicated to a much wider audience.

The shoe — zebra-y, no? — is $140 and features something called full length Boost cushioning. As a colleague mentioned, Griffin’s kicks are reminiscent of Shaquille O’Neal shoes from 1995 and Frank Thomas’ ‘Big Hurt’ sneakers from the following year.

Griffin was wearing the shoes at Saturday’s Nationals game.
