Bowie Baysox celebrate Christmas in July with ‘Manny Claus’ bobblehead

It’s no Jayson Werth Bobblebeard, but the Bowie Baysox’s upcoming promotional figurine is a nice departure from the traditional stadium giveaway.

As part of the team’s Christmas Eve in July festivities for the July 24 game against the Altoona Curve, the first 1,000 fans age 13 and over through the gates  will receive a “Manny Claus” Machado bobblehead.

The Orioles third baseman’s beard looks a bit thin, but the candy cane bat is a great touch.

The Baysox report that Santa Claus will make a special appearance from the North Pole as part of the festivities. Perhaps the team can put in a good word for Machado, who’s on the Naughty List after intentionally throwing his bat at Oakland A’s pitcher Fernando Abad last month.
