RGIII has really gone Hollywood this time

It’s been a while since Robert Griffin III was on a national magazine cover. That streak ends now, though, with Griffin’s appearance on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter.

The pull quote alongside his cover photo is kind of sexy — “There’s avenues to get to Hollywood for a quarterback in the NFL; a lot of guys naturally transition that way,” the quote reads. “But right now, my main focus is winning Super Bowls.”

I couldn’t find that quote in the “Sports Issue” content posted online, but there are several other notable quotes from Griffin in the lead story, about the new Thursday Night Football package.

“There are a lot of players out there who feel like there’s not enough days in the week for us to be playing on Thursdays,” Griffin told the magazine. “It’s something that the NFL is going to have to address to keep players safe while also trying to maximize revenue….”

Griffin, whose knee injury became controversial when the Redskins’ doctor revealed that he had not cleared the quarterback to play after an initial injury a month earlier, won’t wade into the blame debate. But he adds that “when it comes to the league expanding and trying to take control of more nights, I think there is some concern when it comes to [players’] health.” That said, Griffin notes: “At the same time, when we get those games on Sunday and Thursday, then we’re off for an extended period of time. Sometimes we look at it as an extra bye week.”

The magazine also has five portraits of Griffin, including one in his new logo T-shirt.
