It has come to my attention that a bunch of media members are asking some questions about whether a guy with a 1-3 career record as an NFL starter is better than a guy who two years ago had one of the greatest seasons by a rookie quarterback in NFL history.

So I thought I would help answer some of the questions.

Answer: Nope.

Answer: Apocalypse, likely. But you probably don’t need to worry about it.

Answer: Negative.

The questions, of course, came after a guy from out of town — ESPNBoston’s Mike Reiss — watched a couple of joint practices and then wrote this:

One of my biggest takeaways from Patriots-Redskins joint practices was surprise that Robert Griffin III didn’t look like the best quarterback on his own team. In fact, I thought Kirk Cousins was better than him, from the perspective of running the offense, fine-tuned mechanics and how decisively the ball came out of his hand. I wondered if I was alone, and then heard the same sentiment echoed by some others in the Patriots organization.

That was it. That literally is all that it took to set this machine in motion. Three sentences from a guy who saw a tiny fraction of Washington’s preseason work.

Local ESPN.com guy John Keim responded to Reiss’s report with this, which wouldn’t really be great fodder for a television segment.

Yes, Kirk Cousins looked pretty solid against the Patriots in their two days of practices last week. I don’t think the Redskins’ coaches would disagree that he might have looked better than Griffin as well. But even the Redskins’ coaches would point out: Cousins was not throwing against Darrelle Revis or Brandon Browner and wasn’t facing the Patriots’ top pass-rushers. So they took what they saw within context. But Cousins has not had a better camp.

But regardless, here are two more questions.

Has the world ever seen such questions about Redskins quarterbacks in the preseason?

Answer: Probably.

Also, isn’t this item exactly the same thing it protests against, the exploitation of three throwaway sentences written by someone else to generate mindless pixels and a few page views?

Answer: Duh.
