Robert Griffin III to his critics: Keep doubting

(Photo by Katherine Frey/The Washington Post)

Facing criticism after throwing a bad interception and taking unnecessary risks with his legs in his second preseason game, Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III had a simple message for his doubters on Wednesday: Keep it up, guys. Doubters have provided motivation for Griffin since his days at Copperas Cove High.

Griffin’s talk of doubters is nothing new, either. In June, he reminded us that, on our journeys through life, there will be haters and doubters on their journeys, too. Presumably, one should avoid those haters and doubters like would-be tacklers in a meaningless preseason game, by sliding or stepping out of bounds. I don’t doubt that Griffin will do a better job of that Saturday.
