Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper crushed a fifth inning offering from Philadelphia’s Aaron Harang 461 452 feet for a game-tying homer in Saturday’s game at Nationals Park. You might say that Harper hit the hair off the ball, which just missed landing on the concourse to the right of the batter’s eye in straightaway center field.

Harper admired the no-doubt home run — the longest of his career — for a second at home plate before rounding the bases. When he reached dugout, he unleashed the Harper Hair Flip, just as he has after each of his three previous home runs this season.

Saturday’s home run was Harper’s most impressive of the year, but his finest hair flip to date came Friday night. After Harper crushed a three-run homer in the first inning of Washington’s

, Ian Desmond snatched Harper’s helmet to reveal a sweaty mess of hair.

“Watch the hair come flying out,” Nationals broadcaster F.P. Santangelo said during MASN’s slo-mo replay. “That’s some serious salad right there.”
