Meet the newest member of Mystics forward Tianna Hawkins’s family. The 6-foot-3 forward, gave birth to a boy Wednesday night.

She announced her son’s arrival Thursday morning, via Twitter:

Hawkins, 24, played at Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, before attending Maryland, where she ranks fourth on the all-time rebounding list. She was taken sixth overall in the 2013 WNBA draft by Seattle, where she played for a season, then was dealt to the Mystics with guard Bria Hartley for Crystal Langhorne.

It’s not known whether Hawkins — who averaged 4.2 points and three rebounds last year — will return this season, which ends Sept. 13.

This marks the second straight year that a Mystics player had a baby during the season. Guard Tayler Hill had a boy last June and returned to play in five games in 2014.
