The Redskins name controversy was the subject of a clue on Jeopardy on Tuesday in the category “Hail.”

“Many believe this NFL team name should be changed, & with it the song ‘Hail to’ them,” Jeopardy host and lifelong Redskins fan Alex Trebek said.

Contestant Phil answered the $600 clue correctly: “Who are the Redskins?”

We’ll never know if the judges also would’ve accepted “What is the Washington football team?” or some other variation, but Trebek is on record as saying that the Redskins shouldn’t change their name.

From a May 2014 profile of Trebek in the New Republic:

Mostly, he unwinds by watching television. “Breaking Bad” and “Deadwood” are recent favorites; the Lakers a constant. During football season, he follows the Redskins, whom he doesn’t think should change their name.
“They weren’t called the Redskins because we thought Redskins were terrible; it’s because we admire their strength, their abilities,” he says.

Tuesday wasn’t the first time the Redskins name controversy was featured as a clue on the show.
