The Nationals kick off a 10-game homestand with an important three-game series against the Mets starting Monday. Given Thursday’s off day and the uncertainty about Stephen Strasburg’s status after being scratched from his last start, it’s unclear as of now which Nationals pitcher will face the Mets’ Noah Syndergaard in the series opener.

We do know that, barring an unforeseen recall this weekend, a figurine of Jayson Werth and his Great Dane, Magnus, will be given out to the first 20,000 fans through the gates at Nationals Park on Monday. Some are already available for pre-sale on eBay.

The inspiration for the figurine was the photo shoot for the Nationals’ 2016 pet calendar last season, when Magnus, who once urinated on the Nationals logo in the clubhouse, jumped up and put his giant paws on his owner’s shoulders.

Important: While the only promotional photo of the figurine that has been released doesn’t show it, a Nationals spokesperson confirmed that Werth will be depicted with the ‘man-bun’ he was sporting for the pet calendar photo shoot.
