The Capitals’ latest bobblehead offering, which will be included with the purchase of all holiday ticket packages, comes with a little something extra. The base of the Alex Ovechkin bobblehead features a career points counter for the Capitals’ captain. Ovechkin, who is depicted with one skate raised, is at 977 career points entering Tuesday’s game at Columbus. That ranks him 88th all time.

In addition to the bobblehead, the Capitals’ holiday packs include tickets to any two of 16 eligible games (depending on availability) and start at $98.

Several MLB teams in recent years have given away bobbleheads with counters in the base, including the Marlins, who gave away 12,000 Ichiro Suzuki hit-counter bobbleheads in May as the Japanese legend approached 3,000 hits for his major league career.
