Ben’s, which opened in 1958, kept its portrait of Cosby, a longtime customer, even after multiple women accused the comedian of sexual assault and court documents revealed that Cosby had admitted to drugging women. In January, Ben’s decided it was time for a change and invited people to vote on a long list of potential replacements, which eventually came to include Wall.
The mural of Wall and Beal was designed by local artist and high school photographer teacher Robert Generette III, who has done work for the Wizards before. The mural will stay up through early May,
The mural of D.C.’s backcourt, designed by local artist and Wizards fan Robert Generette III, is going up in support of the beginning of the Wizards NBA Playoff run, starting this weekend. According to a Wizards release, the mural of Wall and Beal will stay up through early May, at which point work will begin on a more permanent mural.
