There’s nothing like a little cross-sports fist bump to cap a rather dismal week in D.C. sports.

Bryce Harper did the honors Saturday night, hitting a walk-off home run a little over 24 hours after John Wall’s clutch shot forced a Game 7 Monday night in the Wizards’ series with the Boston Celtics. It was pretty sweet, coming just after Harper had signed a 2018 contract extension, and Harper had Wall on the brain. “Just trying to be like John Wall, walk them off a little bit.”

Good one, No. 34. And the Wizards responded with their own dap, followed by Wall’s proclamation: “My guy lol!!”

After the dismal end of the Capitals’ season Wednesday, it was a nice little boost. The Nationals were tied as of Sunday for the best record in the National League and and a win Monday night would put the Wizards in the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 1979.
