Alex Ovechkin’s wedding ended with him dancing shirtless to Boney M’s ‘Rasputin’

Alex Ovechkin married his longtime girlfriend, Anastasia Shubskaya, last year, but on Saturday, the couple decided to hold a lavish reception, which Shubskaya may or may not now be regretting.

See, at one point, her new husband popped off his shirt, jumped on stage, and sang and danced like a maniac to Boney M’s Russian-inspired hit “Rasputin.”

“A talented athlete who’s talented at everything,” gushed Yana Rudkovskaya, who’s married to Russian figure skating legend Evgeni Plushenko and posted the clip on Instagram.

She added, “You once again have proven how cool you are!”

While “cool” may not be the first word that comes to mind for everyone, there’s no doubt Ovechkin’s wedding, which took place at the Barvikha Concert Hall in a ritzy part of Moscow, looked like a good time.

The party appeared to take a while to reach the point of shirtlessness, however, judging from the previous Instagram posts documenting a much more taciturn evening.

Apparently, members of the Bolshoi Ballet came out to perform.

The couple also performed their own choreographed dance to Bryan Adams’s “Everything I Do.”

Guests clearly did not leave the event hungry, either. There were plenty of pickles to go with the champagne.

We just hope there was enough cake for everybody.

Congratulations again, Alex and Nastya!
