Screech and the Nationals’ Racing Presidents paid a surprise visit to Abingdon Elementary School in Arlington on Monday to recognize the students and Arlington Little Leaguers who dressed as their miniature doppelgangers for Halloween.
“It required the coordination of other parents … and taking over her first floor for over a month with the multiple figures in various stages of the design process,” Ladd told ARLnow.
The Little Presidents include the Rushmores (George, Tom, Abe and Teddy) and “Herbie” Hoover and “Bill” Taft. The Nationals’ own Herbie and Bill have been retired to the team’s spring training facility in West Palm Beach, along with Racing President Coolidge. The Little Presidents, and Little Screech, apparently got some practice running the bases during a Little League game last Friday.
