Nationals closer Sean Doolittle shared a story over the weekend about an incident involving a group of teens on Metro that left Doolittle so shaken it took him “weeks to summon the courage to take the train again.” So what, exactly, did these nefarious teens do? They told the bearded and bespectacled Doolittle that he looks like bearded and bespectacled actor Seth Rogen.

“I am now ready to admit that it was actually a very good burn,” Doolittle tweeted Sunday about a different sort of fire on the tracks before explaining how the interaction went down.

According to Doolittle, he and his wife, Eireann Dolan, were standing on a Metro platform with “a gaggle of teens” after leaving an event for fans at Nationals Park. Doolittle said he “felt cool,” figuring he had been recognized when one of them asked, “Hey, you know who you look like?” Before Doolittle could answer, the teen blurted out “Seth Rogen,” prompting laughter from everyone except Doolittle and especially Dolan.

“She horse laughed right in my face,” Doolittle tweeted. “Pointed at me too. Brutal.”

So, does Doolittle look like the star of such films as “The Green Hornet,” “Knocked Up” and “Superbad”?

There’s definitely some resemblance, and the teen wasn’t the first person to make the comparison.

Meanwhile, how long will it be before new-to-Twitter Nationals reliever Shawn Kelley tweets about a group of teens on the Palm Tran telling him he looks like Jayson Werth?
