The Capital Weather Gang says Friday’s weather should be the calm before Hurricane Sandy begins impacting the region. Still, there will be some early morning fog and potentially even some rain, so watch for those things as you’re heading out.
Connecticut Avenue has reopened in both directions at Bel Pre Road. The roadway was closed due to an earlier accident there involving two large trucks, according to the Montgomery County Police.
An accident on I-66 West in Centreville is blocking the left shoulder and could create delays there.
The accident on Connecticut Avenue and Macomb Street in Northwest Washington has been cleared and all lanes reopened.
MARC Brunswick Line train 878 is running 23 minutes late due to a medical emergency that stoppe the train at the Silver Spring station. Metro will honor MARC tickets, according to the Maryland Transit Administration.

The crash on I-270 South at W. Montgomery Avenue appears to have been cleared and the lanes there reopened. However, an accident on I-270 South at Shady Grove Road is now blocking two lanes. It’s unclear if this is related to the earlier crash or if this is a separate incident. But expect delays on southbound I-270.
The crash on Connecticut Avenue at Bel Pre Road is still blocking Connecticut Avenue in both directions. The accident involved two large trucks, and while it doesn’t appear so far that there are any serious or life-threatening injuries, the Montgomery County Police report that the road remains blocked while they wait for two trucks to arrive.
An accident on I-270 South at W. Montgomery Avenue is blocking two southbound lanes and one of the shoulders.

An accident on Connecticut Avenue at Bel Pre Road is blocking Connecticut Avenue in both directions. Head to Georgia Avenue or Layhill Road if you normally take Connecticut Avenue. And expect delays around this intersection.

VRE train 304 is running about five minutes behind schedule.
A disabled vehicle was reported on the outer loop of the Beltway at the Rockville Pike exit, but it has been cleared.
I-95 North is very crowded approaching the Springfield Interchange, with heavy traffic stretching back to Dale City and Woodbridge. Things are moving particularly slowly near Woodbridge, so expect the slowest condition there.
MARC Brunswick Line trains 872, 874 and 878 will all board riders from the opposite tracks at the Brunswick station.
