Sunday is Veterans Day, which means that Monday is being treated as a holiday for federal workers and plenty of others in the area. Here are some things you need to know about getting around on Monday.

Metro weekend work/schedule

Metrorail will run a Saturday holiday schedule, opening at 5 a.m. and closing at midnight. Metrobus will run a Saturday supplemental schedule, which means some routes won’t run. (Check the bus timetables to see if your particular route is running.)

Metro also has work planned for three lines from 10 p.m. Friday until the system closes at midnight Monday.

  • On the Orange Line, work will close the Ballston and Virginia Square stations, with buses replacing trains between East Falls Church and Clarendon. Orange Line trains also will single-track between East Falls Church and Vienna, which means you should expect headaches if you’re traveling west of Clarendon.
  • Green Line trains will single track between Greenbelt and College Park.
  • Red Line trains will single track between Grosvenor and Friendship Heights.

There will be no Maryland Area Regional Commuter train service Monday.

The Virginia Railway Express will not run Monday.

Arlington Transit

Arlington Transit will run ART routes 41425177 and 87 on Saturday schedules. No other ART routes will operate.

Alexandria’s DASH system will run normal weekday service on Monday.

Fairfax Connector

The Fairfax Connector is running a holiday weekday schedule Monday.

Loudoun County Transit

This bus service will run a reduced schedule Monday. You can check out the full schedule here.

There will be limited OmniRide bus service Monday. Take a look at the schedule to see what routes will be running.

Ride On

Montgomery County’s Ride On service will run a modified holiday schedule. Head here to see what that means for specific routes.

TheBus in Prince George’s County will run mostly normal service Monday, but routes 51, 52 and 53 won’t operate
