New 11th Street Bridge ramp opened Wednesday afternoon

The District’s Department of Transportation has some good news for commuters: A new ramp from the 11th Street Bridge to D.C. 295 North opened this afternoon.

The ramp opened at 1:45 p.m. DDOT tweeted the following photo:


DDOT had tweeted about the ramp opening on Wednesday morning:

New ramp from OB 11th St Freeway Bridge to NB slated to open this afternoon, possibly in time for evening rush hour.

With this new ramp, commuters will have a direct link between the freeways on either side of the Anacostia River. The ramp from D.C. 295 South onto the 11th Street Bridge’s inbound freeway span opened over the summer, Dr. Gridlock reported.
