What if you could take the Orange Line out to Centreville, the Yellow Line down to Fort Belvoir and the Blue Line all the way to Woodbridge?

Two Northern Virginia congressmen have introduced a bill that would study these Metrorail extensions, Tom Jackman reports over at the State of NoVa.

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D) told Jackman that while light rail or bus rapid transit could be the option, now is the time to “have the debate.”

Metro’s proposed $26 billion overhaul includes a variety of changes to the system, including potentially extending Metrorail to accommodate the growth in the suburbs around Washington. (We asked riders for their dream Metrorail extension in January. Suggestions included a mass transit Beltway, a bevy of new stations in D.C. and more.)
