The D.C. Circulator will begin running extended summer hours on certain routes next week, keeping buses on the streets for two additional hours on weeknights and resuming Saturday service.

Buses between Union Station and Navy Yard and between the Potomac Avenue Metro and Skyland will run from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturdays.

When the Washington Nationals play home games, there will be additional service on the Union Station-Navy Yard route.

The new service begins April 1 and will run through Sept. 30. During the winter months, defined by Circulator as between Oct. 1 and March 31, both of those routes operate only on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

They are the only two routes that offer different schedules in the summer and winter months.
