Outer loop jammed near American Legion Bridge [Updated]

2:55 p.m. Update:

All of the main traffic lanes have reopened on the outer loop of the Beltway near Georgetown Pike. The left shoulder remains closed. Traffic is still backed up across the American Legion Bridge and into Maryland, so expect to encounter delays.

2:10 p.m. update:

It appears that the right lane and the right shoulder have reopened on the outer loop of the Beltway. There are still major delays stretching back into Maryland, so avoid this road if at all possible.

Original post:

A crash on the outer loop of the Beltway is blocking all lanes near the American Legion Bridge. Traffic has ground to a halt near the Dulles Toll Road in Virginia, with delays stretching beyond River Road in Maryland. Expect major delays, and avoid the outer loop.
