Update, 7:52 a.m.:

All streets in the U Street area of Northwest Washington have reopened following a police-involved accident Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Original post, 7:26 a.m.:

Several blocks in the bustling U Street corridor of Northwest Washington are closed this morning following a police-involved accident.

U Street is closed between 12th and 14th streets, and 13th Street is closed between V and S streets. The crash took place at 13th and U streets.

No information was immediately available about the cause of the accident, how many vehicles were involved, or if there were any injuries. Police did not have a timeline for how long the streets would be closed.
