The Capital Bikeshare program, whose sturdy red bicycles have become an omnipresent part of the urban landscape, makes its third birthday with a midday celebration near the 7th and F Capital Bikeshare Station. Bikeshare offers one-way rental bikes for commuting and other short-hops around the city, Arlington County and Alexandria. From modest beginnings, it has grown to a fleet of 2,000 bikes located at 250 docking stations in the three jurisdictions.
