Military helicopter makes unexpected landing after warning light goes on

A military helicopter touched down unexpectedly in a Calvert County farm field near Dunkirk Monday morning, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Department said.

“The helicopter had a check engine light on, so they took it down as a precaution,” the sheriff’s department said. “They have a crew coming out from Andrews to check on it.”

A sheriff’s deputy dispatched to the landing said the crew was fine, and there was no damage to the aircraft, which was stationed at Joint Base Andrews.
