Original Post:

Riders on Metro’s Red Line should be ready to encounter headaches this morning. There are delays due to a switch problem near Fort Totten. The delays, which began shortly after 6 a.m., are affecting trains traveling in both directions.

These issues are just the latest in a series of difficulties for Red Line riders this week. A spate of problems has plagued the line this week. And as Dr. Gridlock noted yesterday, looking over a recent week’s worth of Metro delays shows more issues on the Red Line than Metro’s other lines.

In addition, the Blue and Yellow lines heading to Largo Town Center and Mount Vernon Square are delayed due to a train malfunction at Pentagon City.
