Metro has special schedules for the holidays

Here’s what to expect on holiday eves and holidays.

Christmas Eve. Metro will be on its regular weekday schedule, with Metrorail open to midnight.

Christmas Day. Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule, with Metrorail opening at 7 a.m. and closing at midnight. Subscription trips on MetroAccess, the paratransit service, are canceled for the day.

New Year’s Eve. On Tuesday, Dec. 31, Metro service will be on regular weekday schedules, but Metrorail will stay out two hours later than normal, closing at 2 a.m. The time for the last trains varies by station. Figure it by adding two hours to the last-train time for a regular weekday. Here’s a link to the page on Metro’s Web site listing station information.

New Year’s Day. Metrorail and Metrobus again operate on a Sunday schedule, with Metrorail opening at 7 a.m. and closing at midnight. MetroAccess subscription trips canceled.
