West Virginia-bound flight forced to return to Dulles on Friday

A United Express flight bound for Charleston, W.Va., was forced to return to Washington Dulles International Airport because of a “mechanical problem,” airport officials said Friday.

Flight #5012 left Dulles around 1:30 p.m. on Friday but returned to the airport around 2 p.m., spokesman Chris Paolino said. Passengers were taken off the plane and rebooked on another flight. No injuries were reported.
