Police have closed Shady Grove Road between Gaither Road and Interstate 270 southbound in Rockville Tuesday because of a fire at an apartment building.

The building was under construction so there was no evacuation involved, fire officials said, and no reported injuries.

The incident started at 4:15 a.m., fire officials said.

Montgomery Fire Department officials advised drivers to avoid the area. Officials also closed Choke Cherry Road between Shady Grove Road and Piccard Drive.
