Several train problems have slowed down Metro’s Red Line during the early part of Wednesday’s rush hour.

First a signal problem at Silver Spring, around 3:30 p.m., and then a train malfunction that forced passengers to disembark at NoMa-Gallaudet around 4:20 p.m. clogged the system.

At 5:17 p.m., a Metro spokeswoman said that the delays had just cleared and trains were running on time again. At the same time, one passenger tweeted this photograph of a crowded platform:
