Update: Southbound I-295 lanes re-open after accident

Authorities had opened all I-295 southbound lanes to traffic by Monday afternoon.

Police said one right lane is open on I-295 southbound.

An accident closed a portion of I-295 southbound near South Capitol Street Monday morning.

The Metropolitan Police Department closed the southbound lanes and diverted traffic onto South Capitol Street for an overturned dump truck around 9:20 a.m.

It’s unclear when the highway lanes will re-open.
