Half-smoke fans rejoice — Ben’s Chili Bowl arrives at Reagan National

Looking for a half-smoke fix between flights? Well, starting Wednesday you’ll be in luck.

Ben’s Chili Bowl opened its doors in Terminal B/C at Reagan National this week offering the same half-smokes, shakes and chili that has made it a Washington institution and favorite of world leaders., current and past. (Paging Nicolas Sarkozy!)

The restaurant’s debut is part of an ambitious effort by officials at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority to remake the airports’ dining and retail options. Last month, Legal Seafoods opened its doors after leaving the airport in 2009.

Lori Aratani writes about how people live, work and play in the D.C. region for The Post’s Transportation and Development team.
