Seven people were hospitalized after a Ride On bus, an SUV and a car collided in Gaithersburg on Monday during rush hour. Montgomery County fire department spokesman Pete Piringer said that none of the injuries were life-threatening.
The crash happened about 5:14 p.m., police said, at Woodfield and Fieldcrest roads. The intersection was closed after the collision and has since reopened.
Police and fire spokespeople did not know many details of how the crash happened on Monday night, but a police spokesman said that the SUV had T-boned the county-operated bus in the middle of the intersection, which is operated by traffic lights.
Piringer said that one person in each car was injured. One driver suffered trauma that was the most serious of all the injuries in the collision. Ten people on the bus were evaluated by emergency responders on the scene, and five were hospitalized.
