D.C. police said all closings have ended and all lanes are open.

D.C. police closed several streets in Southeast Washington on Wednesday morning after the attempted carjacking and shooting of an off-duty detective.

Authorities arrested one man and are searching for others in the area of Pennsylvania and Southern avenues SE.

Police said because of the manhunt and investigation, motorists should avoid traveling into the District from Marlboro Pike and Pennsylvania Avenue SE.

Authorities closed Southern Avenue SE between Pennsylvania and Massachusetts avenues SE. Suitland Parkway between Alabama Avenue SE and Stanton Road SE was also closed Wednesday morning because of the shooting investigation.

Metropolitan Police Department Chief Cathy L. Lanier said the detective, who was shot multiple times, is in stable condition.
