Five new speed cameras hit D.C. streets

Five new speed cameras are going into operation Monday in the District. Drivers caught speeding will receive a warning during a 30-day trial period. After that, drivers will receive a ticket.

The new cameras are in the following areas:

*The southbound side of the 2400 block of 18th Street NE. The speed limit is 25 miles per hour.

*The southbound side of the 700 block of Maryland Avenue NE. The speed limit is 25 miles per hour.

*The eastbound side of the 4400 block of Reservoir Road NW. The speed limit is 25 miles per hour.

*The northbound side of the 2600 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW. The speed limit is 25 miles per hour.

*The northwest-bound side of the 3000 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. The speed limit is 30 miles per hour.
