A photo circulating on social media appears to show the message that prompted a bomb threat investigation on a Silver Line train Tuesday morning.

“There is a bomb on this train,” the message reads, appearing in a slot for ads or promotional material.

A Metro spokesman said someone wrote a message mentioning a bomb on a Silver Line train Tuesday morning that caused officials to have riders exit the train, leading to delays on other lines.

K-9 units searched the train and no bomb was found, authorities said. There were no injuries reported.

There were delays on the Orange, Blue and Silver lines. Normal service has now resumed.

Riders should expect residual delays in the direction of Largo and New Carrollton because of an earlier issue at the L’Enfant Plaza stop. There was police activity at the stop but a Metro spokesman would not give details. He said no one was injured.
