Delays on Metro’s Red Line after brake problem stalls train at Forest Glen

Trains briefly shared a track on Metro’s Red Line on Monday evening after a brake problem stalled a train at Forest Glen.

When the problem occurred, some cars on the Glenmont-bound train stopped just short of the station, forcing passengers to pass through the doors onto a railcar at the platform, said Metro spokeswoman Morgan Dye.

The issue occurred about 6 p.m. The train problem led to single-tracking between Silver Spring and Forest Glen, but two-track service resumed after about 10 minutes, Dye said.

Delays continue however.
