A Metro bus crashed along 16th Street NW and ended up on top of a wall. No one was seriously injured.

The incident happened just after 5:30 a.m. when a vehicle and bus collided. It was not clear how they crashed and how the bus ended up on the wall. One of the vehicles ran up on the sidewalk and hit a tree and a lightpost, police said.

D.C. Police said at least four passengers were on the bus at the time but none of them reported serious injuries.

Authorities said the southbound side of 16th Street near Underwood Street is closed as a result. Drivers should expect major delays. It is not clear how long the roadways will be closed.
