A man drove his car early Friday morning over the White’s Ferry crossing and into the Potomac River in Montgomery County.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m., police said, when the man drove his car through a closed gate, onto and then “off the ferry into the river.”
No one was injured and the man was later charged with DUI. It took authorities several hours to get the car out of the water and the crossing was closed for several hours.
