Orange Line service has been restored, Metro officials said, but the transit agency advised passengers to expect continued delays.

Train service was briefly suspended at Landover after a woman was struck by a train at the station. The woman was expected to survive her injuries, authorities said.

Prince George’s County fire department spokesman Mark Brady says the woman was taken to a hospital with injuries deemed not to be life-threatening. Trains continued to single-track through late afternoon.

Orange Line trains were single-tracking between the Cheverly and New Carrollton stations Sunday afternoon after a woman was struck by a train at the Landover station, authorities said.

Metro advised riders to expect delays in both directions. Train service was briefly suspended at Landover, before being partially restored by about 2:40 p.m.

Mark Brady, a spokesman for the Prince George’s County fire department, said a woman “intentionally moved” in front of a train at the station. She was removed from the underside of the train, he said, and was being treated by medics.

Landover is between the Cheverly and New Carrollton stations on the eastern end of the Orange Line in Maryland.
