A Metro station manager was arrested Wednesday after he got into a physical altercation with a fellow employee in Pentagon station.

The fight occurred in the station manager’s kiosk just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to Metro spokesman Dan Stessel. Officials don’t know what prompted the altercation. The station manager was charged with assault and battery. The other employee, a fare technician, was taken to the hospital and evaluated, but was not admitted and did not have visible injuries.

Metro is not releasing the names of the employees. The agency is investigating the incident and will determine whether one or both employees will face disciplinary action, Stessel said. The incident did not disrupt rail service.
