Metro Transit Police arrested a suspect Wednesday night in connection with the afternoon stabbing on a V4 Metrobus, the agency said. Further details were not immediately available.
A woman was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after a stabbing on a Metrobus in Northeast, Metro said.
Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said the incident occurred about 2:15 p.m. on a V4 bus at 58th and Foote streets NE. An argument erupted between the victim and another woman aboard, whom she knew, Stessel said. A verbal dispute became physical and eventually led to the stabbing, he said.
Police are searching for a medium-complexioned black woman, 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds, who was described as wearing a blue Greyhound uniform shirt and blue pants. D.C. Police and Metro Transit Police are looking for the woman, who was last seen at 57th and Foote streets NE, Stessel said.
The victim, described as being in her 20s, fled with injuries that were not life-threatening, he said. She was taken to a hospital.
Metro was attempting to pull surveillance footage from the bus, the agency added.
