Metro Transit Police looking for man in connection with sexual assault at L’Enfant Plaza

Metro Transit Police are searching for a man in connection with the sexual assault of a woman at L’Enfant Plaza Metro station Saturday afternoon, officials said Tuesday.

The woman was standing on the platform about 1:10 p.m. Saturday when she was grabbed on the buttocks by an unknown man, Metro spokesman Ron Holzer said.

A short time later, the woman and the offender both boarded a westbound train, and the man moved to another car, Holzer said. The woman filed a report with police at Foggy Bottom, according to the transit agency.

Police were searching for medium-complexioned black man, 20 to 25 years of age, who was listed at 4-foot-11 and 110 pounds. Transit Police detectives were investigating the case, which was classified as a fourth-degree sexual assault.

The incident was listed in Metro’s daily police blotter the day after it was reported.
